Mangrove Vireo

The Mangrove Vireo is a species of bird in the Vireonidae family. It is found in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.

The Mangrove Vireo is a chatter singer, with a large and varied repertoire of vocalizations. The song is a short series of nasal chwei-chwei-chwei notes. Common calls are very numerous and include short repeated wheezes, a bouncy breeeee, and a series of lively notes that sound like a bouncing cartoon spring. More
