Puerto rican spindalis - The Puerto Rican Spindalis, Spindalis portoricensis, is a tanager endemic to the island of Puerto Rico. It is widely distributed throughout the island and is an important part of the Puerto Rican ecosystem because of its help in seed dispersal and plant reproduction. Stripe-headed Tanager - The spindalises were traditionally considered aberrant tanager of the family Thraupidae, but actually they do not seem to belong there. Like the equally enigmatic Bananaquit , they belong to superfamily Passeroidea, wherein they are provisionally treated as incertae sedis among the nine-primaried oscines
