Golden-backed Mountain Tanager

Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes. It is threatened by habitat loss.

The Golden-backed Mountain Tanager is classified as Endangered (EN), considered to be facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild.

Peruvian endemics such as Golden-backed Mountain Tanager and Junin Grebe. Most nights are spent in good hotels though we did camp at Bosque Unchog – an unforgettable experience in all respects. Our camp chef Donato looked after us well with hearty field breakfasts and lunches plus a variety of beverages in camp in the evening and our drivers Americo and Mariano took care of getting from A to B on the a comfortable Manu Expeditions bus.
