Sooty Gull

The Sooty Gull is a species of gull in the Laridae family. It is found in Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Maldives, Mozambique, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Republic of India, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. As is the case with many gulls, it has traditionally been placed in the genus Larus.

The Sooty Gull is classified as Least Concern. Does not qualify for a more at risk category. Widespread and abundant taxa are included in this category.

Sooty Gulls are found throughout the Red Sea from Egypt to Saudi Arabia south along the Somalia coastline and into northern coastal Kenya.
